Is your link fundamentally broken?
Don't try to fix it manually. Use our UTM Tag Generator to recreate the link perfectly from scratch.
One bad link is easy to fix. Bad data across every channel is harder.

- Spaces: Cause browser encoding issues (%20) and fragmented data.
- Uppercase Letters: GA4 treats "Facebook" and "facebook" as different sources.
- Missing Parameters: Source, Medium, and Campaign are essential.
Why Validate Your Links?
Even one "bad" link can ruin your campaign attribution. An audit ensures that your B2B reporting in HubSpot and GA4 stays clean, reliable, and actionable.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if my UTM link is working?
Paste it into the validator above to confirm the parameters parse correctly. Once verified, click the link and check Google Analytics 4 under the Realtime report to confirm the source, medium, and campaign are registering.
Why are my UTM parameters not showing in GA4?
Missing UTM data usually comes from formatting errors — typos, spaces instead of dashes, or a missing required parameter. The other common cause is a server redirect on your site that strips the parameters from the URL before GA4 can read them.
Are UTM parameters case sensitive?
Yes. Google Analytics and HubSpot both treat utm_source=Facebook and
utm_source=facebook as two different sources, which splits one channel into
multiple rows. Keep every value lowercase — this validator flags uppercase characters so
you catch them before the link goes live.
Which UTM parameters are required?
utm_source, utm_medium, and utm_campaign are the
three required for meaningful attribution. utm_term and
utm_content are optional. A link missing any of the three required parameters
will report incomplete data. See when not to
tag a link at all for the internal-link exception.
